Imposter Syndrome

Have you ever heard of the Imposter Syndrome? It’s a real thing! For those who don’t know, the Imposter Syndrome refers to a "psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their accomplishments and has a persistent internalised fear of being exposed as a “fraud” ”…. as defined by good ol’ Wikipedia. It manifests itself in many forms. In the workplace for example. You may have been fortunate enough to received a promotion at some point. Even under the recommendation of your peers and management, you still second guess whether you are good enough for that role! I know I’ve been there. The same happens in marriage also. "I got the girl but I am ready to be engaged? Ok I’m engaged but I am ready to be a husband? Ok I’m a husband but am I ready to be a father? It never ends but let me try and hone in on something here.

You are not an imposter. The constant self-doubt and second-guessing of yourself is a natural part of the growing process. You're maturing! You’re getting better! You're going through the pain required to get you that next level. Does it mean it will be easy? No! Fear of being exposed is constantly looming over your head but don’t worry, you've got this. God would not have allowed you to get this far if He didn’t think you could handle it. You’ve got this. The book of Philippians chapter 1 verse 6 also has says something to say on this, “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Keep up the good work. You’ve got this.
